Repurpose old papers and wrapping when gifting your favorite treats this holiday season
Reduce the extra waste that comes along with wrapping paper, packaging and ribbon by using repurposed items such as calendar pages, brown paper bags or newspaper. There are many ways to reuse items instead of sending them straight to the landfill.
Cut out a colored section of the newspaper from the cartoons page and use the bright hues as trim against a plain brown paper backdrop. You can also use personalized cookies or candies with names on them instead of using an extra piece of paper or a sticker tag.
Look for items around your kitchen to add some spice to your green gifts such as star anise, cinnamon sticks or cloves and incorporate their shapes and colors into the package design you've created.
It’s easy to make sandwich wraps, and there’s so much room for creativity. Load them with meats, cheese, and veggies to suit. Spread them with mayonnaise or a sandwich spread or drizzle them with dressing.
For breakfast, you can make a wrap with scrambled eggs, grated cheese, and snipped bacon or crumbled sausage. Add salsa, if you like, for a Tex-Mex breakfast burrito.
For dessert, you can make a wrap with berries, creams, or melted chocolate. If you have a sweet tooth, you could even do all of the above.
You can buy tortillas in the grocery store, but they always taste much better homemade. You can make them yourself with your tortilla mix.
Here are four of our favorite wraps to make–great for a quick lunch or an easy dinner.

We're welcoming the weekend with two simple and scrumptious meals: a classic Chicken Caesar Wrap and a Caprese Caesar Wrap. Both superstars feature my lightened-up, creamy, dreamy Caesar dressing that contains a surprising ingredient … avocado. It's so luxurious and versatile, plus it's light in calories and made with wholesome ingredients. Now, that's a wrap!
This wrap has it all — the perfect ratio of creaminess, crunchiness and cheesiness. It's full of protein and fiber and comes in a tasty, tightly wrapped tortilla. A few prep pointers: You can use store-bought or leftover chicken, swap in any preferred lettuce and select a tortilla that suits your eating style (whole-wheat, low-carb, gluten-free, etc.). The avocado Caesar dressing is key — an easy, toss-in-the-blender situation — and you can stash leftovers in the fridge for a few days. It's easy to get wrapped up in this scrumptious sammie.
Get the recipe here.
Caprese Caesar Wrap
Now you can be a wrap artist: With layers of vibrant and nutrient-packed ingredients, this dish is calling your name. Each bite delivers the best of both salads — Caprese and Caesar Salad — rolled up into one. Juicy, sweet tomatoes, creamy mozzarella and fragrant basil leaves will excite your palate, but the avocado Caesar dressing is what really makes this meal sing. Hoping you love it — we think it's a satisfying bundle of joy! (Pun, of course, intended.)

Sandwich or Salad? That’s a Wrap!
Every day around noon, are you stuck with a rumbling stomach … and lunch indecision? What do you feel like? A sandwich or salad? A couple of thick slices of bread or a large roll might be more carbs or calories than you need. But sometimes a salad just doesn’t sound satisfying. If only there were something in between, with a little less bread, and a little more greens. Well, you can roll those two things together, and call it a wrap! A whole-wheat tortilla is a more reasonable serving of whole grains, and you can pile it with lean protein and lots of colorful veggies. Plus, wraps are ideal for packed lunches . Already in a neat and tidy bundle, they practically pack themselves.
Ready to roll? Simply place the tortilla on a work surface, arrange the filling ingredients down the center, and season. Then gently roll up the wrap, tucking in the ends like a burrito, if you like. Enjoy right away or wrap in plastic for packing.
